Occupational Health “Training for Trainers” offered at Tompkins Workers’ Center
The Tompkins County Workers’ Center is holding an Occupational Safety Health Training for Trainers on Friday, December 14th and Friday, December 21st, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both days. This training is designed for staff of community organizations that serve vulnerable and/or immigrant workers and any other people who are interested in helping as volunteers to train vulnerable workers.
As a trainer you become the knowledgeable staff, friend, person in the community who is able to recognize and identify potential hazards to safety and health at the work place, and help those who due to lack of training are most vulnerable. The trainings includes Know Your Basic Rights Under OSHA; Recognizing and Controlling Hazards which includes Mapping of the Work Place and Body Mapping, and teaching techniques based on popular education. Please contact: Carlos H. Gutierrez at the Workers’ Center at 607-269-0409 or at carlos@tcworkerscenter.org.
