Save SUNY Rally in Albany on March 9

You’ll most likely be reading lots of messages like this one in the near future: a rally is planned in Albany to protest budget cuts.

This particular rally is a part of the fight to save SUNY. State colleges traditionally have been the route to higher education for middle and lower income earners.  Public education at every level must be saved.

A bus is leaving from SUNY Cortland Tuesday morning to travel to the rally in Albany at the State Capitol. To sign up please contact the UUP (United University Professions which represents SUNY academics and professionals) at 607-753-5991 or email upp@cortland.edu the sooner the better. It was requested that people sign up by today, March 3, if possible.

Cosponsors of the rally include NYPIRG (New York Public Interest Research Group), UUP and PSC (Professional Staff Congress, which represents CUNY faculty and staff).
